TEXAS — Not everyone could stay off the icy roads during the winter storm, including a security guard whose Sunday morning commute went from bad to worse.
Mashakii Roan was stranded for hours near Interstate 30 in Garland. She had a flat tire, and her car was stuck on the icy entrance to an Exxon gas station and running out of gas, as she sat with the heater on to keep warm during the freezing temperatures. She said things went further downhill when she stepped out of the car to call her dad for help, and her cellphone slipped out of her hand and fell into a gutter.
“It’s in there in the drain,” Roan pointed out to Spectrum reporter Valencia Jones. “It’s gonna be messed up by the time I get it.”…
