The Frisco City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Collin County for animal shelter services totaling $649,942 for fiscal year 2026 at its Feb. 3 meeting.
The agreement extends Frisco’s partnership with the Collin County Animal Shelter through Sept. 30, 2026, continuing a collaboration that began in 2006 when nine North Texas cities joined forces to build a shared facility.
Frisco is responsible for approximately 29.78% of the shelter’s operating costs based on the city’s population of 235,615 residents, according to 2025 estimates from the North Central Texas Council of Governments. The city’s contribution is the largest among participating municipalities…
