Students ticketed in off campus pay-to-park lot, after obtaining 24 hour permit

Five teaching assistants within the communications department have received tickets from the LAZ Parking lot behind W. Hickory Street bar Lucky Lou’s despite having paid the parking fee.

According to posted signage, the LAZ lot costs $5 and a 99-cent convenience fee for 24 hours of parking. Drivers are asked to register their car once for the system to remember the vehicle and charge $5 every time the car moves in and out of the lot.

However, drivers have reported receiving $50 tickets despite claiming to provide proof of payment…
