Denton County investigators are still hunting for a suspect in a brutal New Year’s Eve stabbing near U.S. Highway 380 and Fishtrap Road, and they are leaning hard on the public to help break the case.
The attack, which happened on Dec. 31, 2025, left the victim with multiple stab wounds, according to investigators. Detectives say they canvassed the area around East U.S. Highway 380 and Fishtrap Road and recovered latent fingerprints and several DNA samples while searching for witnesses and any shred of useful surveillance footage.
In a bulletin posted yesterday, the Denton County Sheriff’s Office listed the case as bulletin number 2026-02-003 and said the victim had been stabbed multiple times near Fishtrap Road and east U.S. Highway 380. The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s, with dirty-blonde hair, a skinny build, and a height between 5’8″ and 6’0″.
