Eastbound traffic on Interstate 30 in Dallas ground to a halt yesterday after a pedestrian was struck and killed near Munger Boulevard, according to authorities. Dallas County sheriff’s traffic deputies shut down the eastbound lanes at Munger and forced drivers off the highway, creating heavy backups as crews worked the scene.
In a post from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies issued a traffic alert warning that all eastbound lanes at Munger were closed while investigators handled a pedestrian fatality. Drivers were told to exit at Munger. The alert also featured Texas Department of Transportation sensor timestamps that showed activity on IH-30 near Munger just before 10 p.m., which officials attached to the public notice.
