PROSPER, Texas — The Prosper Police Department has appointed Ken Myers as interim chief, bringing over 30 years of law enforcement experience to the role.
Myers, who retired in August 2025 after a 25-year career with the Allen Police Department, was sworn in on Monday, according to a press release from the Prosper Police Department. During his tenure in Allen, Myers held various positions, including officer, corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant, before being promoted to deputy chief in 2015. In his role as deputy chief, he managed patrol operations, criminal investigations, 9-1-1 communications, SWAT, canine units, jail operations, major technology initiatives, and budget and grant administration.
Myers holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in criminal justice and criminology from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Command College at the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, the 260th session of the FBI National Academy, and the Senior Management Institute for Police.
