White Castle has circled its calendar for North Texas. State records now show the chain is on track to start building its first Texas restaurant at Grandscape in The Colony on April 1, with construction expected to run into late summer or early fall. The 3,430-square-foot standalone Castle is planned with a double drive-thru, canopy and patio seating, at an estimated cost of about $2.1 million. The project, the brand’s first crack at the Lone Star State, is expected to bring roughly 80 to 100 jobs to the North Texas market.
State Filing Spells Out Construction Game Plan
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project page, the White Castle Grandscape registration (TABS2026007986) lists an official start date of April 1, and a projected completion date of Sept. 1. The filing pegs the build at $2,100,000 for a 3,430-square-foot new construction that includes a double drive-thru, a canopy and patio seating. It names LMG Ventures, LLC as the owner and Archall Architects as the design firm, and notes that the project is privately funded. On the state portal, the status reads “Review Complete,” which signals the project is advancing toward permitting and construction scheduling.
White Castle’s Big Texas Debut And Opening Window
White Castle first confirmed its Texas debut in August in a company press release, calling Grandscape a fitting location for the brand’s inaugural Lone Star outpost. In that announcement, distributed via PR Newswire, the company said it expects to welcome guests in summer 2026 and plans to hire roughly 80 to 100 team members for the new restaurant. “We couldn’t imagine a more fitting location than Grandscape in The Colony for our debut in the Lone Star State,” CEO Lisa Ingram said in the release.
Grandscape Keeps Luring Midwest Favorites To North Texas
Grandscape has quietly turned into a landing spot for Midwestern restaurant transplants, and White Castle is the latest name to join the party, lining up alongside neighbors such as Portillo’s and other national brands. As the Dallas Morning News reports, the development pulls diners and shoppers from across North Texas and offers large-format sites that appeal to chains moving into the region. That regional draw is a big part of why White Castle zeroed in on Grandscape for its Texas launch.
