McKinney mayor shows off new passenger terminal as first airline prepares to launch

McKinney leaders and the airport’s first commercial airline partner got a first look Thursday at the construction of the city’s new passenger terminal at McKinney National Airport (TKI), touring what will become passenger and baggage areas.

Mayor Bill Cox said the terminal is intended to serve more than just McKinney and that it will benefit the entire region.

“With growth patterns and traffic and population increases in the Metroplex, really in the northern part of the Metroplex, it only made sense that McKinney National become a reliever airport for DFW and also Love Field,” Cox said. “This is bigger than McKinney, and we are as pleased as can be.”…
