Norma’s Cafe Owner Remembered As Respected Restaurant Industry Leader

Edward “Ed” Murph III, the owner of beloved Dallas comfort food institution Norma’s Cafe, is being remembered for his “unwavering commitment to community service and leadership.”

The Texas Restaurant Association shared in a statement that Murph died Feb. 23. Murph was the first-ever Texas recipient of the National Restaurant Association Restaurant Neighbor Award, is a former president of The Greater Dallas Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association, a Texas Restaurant Association State Board Member, and a Hall of Honor Inductee.

“Ed was a respected leader and cherished member of our restaurant community,” the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association said in a post on social media. “His impact on our industry and the countless lives he touched will not be forgotten.”…
