The Addison Police Department announced the sentencing of two individuals involved in a human trafficking case that began in November 2023. The investigation uncovered a transnational criminal organization trafficking women from Eastern Europe and Russia through Cuba and Mexico to Dallas. Detectives identified four victims and linked the activity to Bubala Café & Grill in Addison.
On May 10, 2024, suspects Vali Sattarov and Daniil Li were arrested. On February 17, 2026, Sattarov received 63 months in federal prison for money laundering and importation of an alien for immoral purposes, while Li was sentenced to 18 months for the same offense.
