The era of the out-of-town car search is coming to an end for Celina residents. In a 7-0 vote on March 10, the Celina City Council cleared the way for the city’s first-ever automotive anchor, Ewing Buick GMC.
The decision to rezone 20 acres along the Dallas Parkway marks a turning point for the city’s commercial landscape, transforming a stretch of undeveloped land north of Frontier Parkway into a major regional hub for sales and service.
A Strategic Tollway Anchor
The new dealership will occupy the southwest corner of the future Clear Creek Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. As part of the agreement, the project includes the partial construction of Clear Creek Parkway itself — a piece of infrastructure that will eventually connect the dealership and neighboring properties to the main tollway artery.
“They provide employment and needed product,” Development Services Director Dusty McAfee told the council during the meeting.
