Carrollton firefighters rescue woman from second-story apartment during fire

CARROLLTON, Texas — Carrollton firefighters rescued a woman over the weekend from a second-story apartment after a fire started in the apartment kitchen beneath it, officials say.

According to Carrollton Fire Rescue, units were called just before 10 a.m. Saturday, to the fire in the 22600 block of Lakehill Lane. There was reportedly a woman inside, unable to get out.

Firefighters saw smoke coming from the back of the apartment upon arrival, officials said. A ladder was deployed, and firefighters were able to see the woman from a second-story window…
