Florida State baseball saw its season come to a close on Monday, as St. John’s defeated them for the second time in the Tallahassee Regional. It was a disappointing end to a season that saw the team consistently struggle on offense. It’s not like Florida State fans have much to root for with the upcoming football season. FSU softball lost in its regional, so Florida State fans have to live through the success of teams playing their rivals.
Case in point, the Florida Gators were facing the Troy Trojans in the Gainesville Regional. The Trojans defeated the Gators 16-11, forcing a deciding game on Monday. Florida State fans immediately turned to rooting for the Trojans since Miami had already been eliminated. Troy jumped on the Gators early and eventually put them away 10-2:

Florida getting smoked by Troy make the loss against St. John’s a little easier to swallow for Florida State fans.

It’s somewhat embarrassing to cheer for another team like this, but Florida swept the Noles in their three-game series. It’s even worse because Troy tee’d off on Gator pitching, and they absolutely dominated the Florida State offense, striking out nearly 45 times in just over 90 at-bats…
