Florida gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds traveled through four Northeast Florida counties today as part of his “Defending the Florida Dream Tour,” rolling out a new education initiative and holding multiple campaign events.
The day began in Duval County at Jacksonville University, where Donalds unveiled his “Read to Succeed” proposal. The literacy plan is designed to ensure that every student in Florida is reading at grade level by the third grade.
Following the Jacksonville stop, Donalds held a rally in Lake Butler in Union County. His remarks there centered on inflation and affordability, parental rights, and the state’s economy. The tour then headed to Columbia County for an event focused on the economic pressures currently facing families in North Florida.
