GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A Chinese national living in Apopka, Florida was arrested in November last year after being accused of a scheme to defraud and obtain property of over $20,000 from an elderly victim. On Tuesday, she was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison.
Xin Liu, 40, lived in the United States with an H-1B visa. Between July 22, 2025, and July 30, 2025, Liu drove to at least six locations throughout Florida to pick up money from elderly victims of the fraud scheme, including one senior living in a Gainesville assisted living community…
