GAINESVILLE, Fla. – At an August 4 budget meeting, Alachua County Commissioners requested changes to the proposed FY2027 budget in their areas of interest and brought up ideas for future initiatives, including renewing CHOICES, addressing food waste, renewing the infrastructure surtax two years early, and employing jail inmates and recently incarcerated individuals in Public Works.
