A 31-year-old man charged in the fatal shooting of a woman and their infant son in northeast Gainesville in December 2020 was sentenced Aug. 31 to 75 years in prison.
Kivi Jacquis Ellis was sentenced by Alachua County Judge James Colaw to 50 years on two counts of second-degree murder and 25 years on a charge of attempted murder, following a plea deal with prosecutors. The sentences will be served consecutively. Ellis was given credit for 2,097 days served.
