As a college student at the University of North Florida, Wanda Lloyd knew she wanted a career working with children. She considered becoming a child psychologist before deciding to study special education.
Lloyd began her 28-year career in Duval County as a special education teacher. Eighteen years ago, she moved to Gainesville and now teaches fifth grade at Idylwild Elementary School, where she helps students at all levels succeed.
“What I have experienced is that for all students, whether or not they have a disability…whether they are a low-performing student or a high performing student, strategies are necessary for success,” she said…
