The Florida Gators offense was explosive against Florida Atlantic, racking up 66 points and the party got started with Vernell Brown III scampering 49 yards to the house on a WR screen. Talk about a great start to the Jon Sumrall era.
Brown’s touchdown sent the Swamp into a frenzy and Eric Singleton’s block on the perimeter helped set up the big play. However, it might’ve come at a big price for the high-profile transfer wide receiver, as he was rolled up on the play and left the game with a leg injury.

That looks hideous, and we can only hope it’s not too serious. Singleton was a big signing out of the portal after he spent the past season at Auburn. He came to Florida to reunite with offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, who he spent two seasons with at Georgia Tech before moving on to Auburn after the 2024 season.
