STATION SALES
Tampa & Gainesville-Ocala, FL – Roger Holler’s MARC Media Group has filed a $2.5 million deal to buy five stations in two Florida markets from Steven Schurdell. In the Tampa market, they include classic hits “Hits 106” WGHR and AC “Citrus 95.3” WXCV. In the Gainesville-Ocala, FL market, MARC Media Group files to buy classic hits “96.7 The Fox” WXOF, “Nature Coast Country 103.3/104.3” WXCZ/WXZC. The deal includes $500,000 in cash, another $1.5 million to be paid over the next 10 years via a promissory note to the seller, plus an additional $500,000 in conditional performance-based cash payments over the five-year period following closing. MARC Media Group doesn’t currently own any Tampa market stations. But it does own seven stations in the Gainesville-Ocala market, including “I Am Country 106.9” WPLL, “Rock It 100.5” WHHZ, R&B “Magic 101.3” WTMG, classic hits “100.9 The Beach” WXJZ, classic R&B WDVH (980), and religious “The Shepherd” WRZN/WTMN (720/1430). To add the additional three FMs, the company has filed a waiver request with the FCC, saying in part that it has a smaller revenue share than Saga, Audacy, or JVC Media in the Gainesville-Ocala market and that would remain unchanged as the three FMs will have less than $500,000 in total billings in 2026. Once the sale closes, Schurdell exits radio ownership. Broker: Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage
North Dakota – The Ingstad family’s I3G Media has filed a $400,000 deal to buy hot AC “Mix 93.3” KSJZ and classic country KSJB (600) in Jamestown, ND from Chesterman Communications. The deal also includes the Jamestown, ND-licensed translator K261FC at 100.1 FM that simulcasts KSJB. I3G Media refers to the third generation of Ingstad radio ownership, with its ownership comprised of Tallie Colville (33.3%), Todd Ingstad (33.3%), Stacy Ingstad (30.3%), and Reagan Ingstad (3%). I3G Media currently owns 7 FMs and 6 AMs in North Dakota and Minnesota, of which eight overlap with the stations it looks to buy. They include “Big Dog Country 95.5” KYNU, classic rock “103.1 The Raven” KRVX, “Thunder Country 106.1/98.3” KQLX-FM/KXGT, hot AC “Q-101.1” KQDJ-FM, “AM 890 Ag News” KQLX, soft AC KQDJ (1400), and country KOVC (1490). I3G Media has asked the FCC for a waiver of current ownership limits in such unrated markets, arguing the contour overlap methodology’s produces a market count that is too small to reflect economic realities of the region. Once the sale closes, Chesterman Communications will exit radio ownership. Broker: Griffin Media Brokers…
