Three women were abruptly cut from the University of Florida gymnastics team this week.
Senior Skylar Draser, who had been active on the Gators roster since freshman year, had consistently started on vault and beam last season, The Gainesville Sun reported on Wednesday, October 7. Junior Lily Bruce had competed in three exhibitions last year, while junior Ly Bui suffered a knee injury last January. All three were part of the 2026 SEC championship team last season.
“We wish them well moving forward,” coach Jenny Rowland told the outlet in a statement without giving the reasons for the decision. “Our focus remains on supporting our athletes and maintaining a team culture built on accountability, respect and commitment.”
