Woman on probation arrested for stealing dirt bike

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – Lisandra Rivera, 38, of Hawthorne, was arrested early this morning and charged with theft and burglary of an occupied dwelling after allegedly entering a covered porch and stealing a child’s electric dirt bike.

At about 3:45 a.m., an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a home in Hawthorne where the victim said Rivera entered his fenced property and took a child’s dirt bike worth about $200 from a covered porch. The victim followed Rivera as she allegedly left the property with the dirt bike and kept her in sight until the deputy arrived. The deputy reportedly recovered the dirt bike and arrested Rivera. The incident was also reportedly captured on a doorbell camera.

Rivera has two felony convictions (none violent) and two misdemeanor convictions (none violent). She was sentenced to a year of probation last January after entering a plea of nolo contendere to a charge of possession of a controlled substance. A warrant for her arrest was issued in September 2023 after she violated multiple conditions of her probation, and she was arrested a few days later. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail, and the probation was extended by an additional year.
