Florida woman takes home $1M prize from Shell station scratch-off game

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 53-year-old woman turned $50 into $1 million playing a scratch-off game she bought from a Shell gas station, according to the Florida Lottery.

Misty Regulacion, of Callahan, played the 500X THE CASH scratch-off game she purchased at Starke Shell, located at 115 South Temple Avenue in Starke. That retailer will get a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Regulacion chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000.

The $50 ticket has a top prize of $25 million, the largest prize in a Florida scratch-off game.

Since its inception, scratch-off games have awarded over $59.5 billion in prizes and generation more than $18.39 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
