Matheson History Museum to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a sock hop in Gainesville

Business workshop

The city of Gainesville Office of Equity and Inclusion and the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida will host a business planning workshop.

It will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday in the GRU Administration Building at 301 SE Fourth Ave.

The guest presenter will be Michael Chung, a certified global business professional with the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE).

Black history

The Grand Female Protective Society Lodge #10 Inc. will host a Black History/Memorial program at 3 p.m. Saturday at the temple at 12610 NW 39th Ave.

The free event open to the public will recognize and honor local living and deceased Black pioneers.
