SEC school catches a stray that was easy to see coming from C.J. Stroud

College football lives on through many players even when they end up in the NFL.

That much can be said about C.J. Stroud, who recently went to bat for Ohio State and took a shot at an SEC school in the process.

In a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast , Stroud was speaking on not winning a National Championship at Ohio State with former Florida RB Fred Taylor.

Stroud asked Taylor where he played his college ball and the rest was predictable from there.

“C’mon man, what is you talking about? I’m thinking he went to Bama or something,” Stroud said.

Taylor played at Florida from 1994 until 1997 and ended up being a first-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 1998 NFL Draft. Taylor did win a National Championship with Florida in 1996 when they went 12-1 and defeated Florida State in the final game.

“Let’s talk about the recency, what has y’all done? Nothing.”

Things have been quite a bit tougher for Florida over the last decade or more. The Gators’ last double-digit win season was in 2019 when they won 11 games and appeared in the Orange Bowl. You have to go back to 2008 to find their last National Championship win and it was against the Oklahoma Sooners. Since that season, Florida has won 10 or more games five times.
