GAINESVILLE, Fla. – According to an alert from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), a gas main was hit overnight on SR 26 (Newberry Road), just east of 75th Street. Only one eastbound lane is currently open. This is close to the I-75 ramps. FDOT is in the process of putting up message boards further west advising motorists of traffic conditions. GRU said it will be closed until around noon.
