Boy, Billy Napier is really teetering on the edge.
Walking into week 4, the talks of the Gators firing Napier are almost at a fever pitch. So much so that the discussions of who would be the perfect one to fill in Napier’s shoes are in full swing.
Brandon Olsen, the host of Locked On Gators , firmly believes that someone with a “Proven Power 4 win,” is a must, among other things.
“Now the expectation is that the criteria will be: proven power four winner, recruiting, offensive-minded. Those are the 3 key traits.”
Fair enough, given Dan Mullen and Billy Napier’s history with the Gators. But if not them, then who? Well, Olsen has an answer for that as well (a name that Dan Mullen himself recommended to Florida as his replacement after being fired!).
Lane Kiffin is the top contender in Billy Napier’s replacement race
Lane Kiffin is the top name for the Florida job. And he’d supposedly take it in a heartbeat .
Olson is on board with that possibility.
“The name that always comes up is Lane Kiffin, right? That’s the guy that everybody is connecting, Florida Gators, new head coach Lane Kiffin,” Olsen said, agreeing that Kiffin is the top name when it comes to Napier’s replacement.
