Gainesville man arrested for hit and run, along with separate stalking charges

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nicholas Tyre Brown, 25, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and separate charges of aggravated stalking, throwing a rock into a car, and property damage.

The stalking victim told an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she previously dated Brown but had told him multiple times that she did not want any contact with him. She said that despite her requests, Brown had sent her numerous text messages and had previously showed up at another location, where he took her keys from her and got into her car to wait for her.

The victim said that when she arrived at Terwilliger Elementary on October 3 to drop off her child, Brown was waiting for her at the entrance to the parking lot, and he walked in front of her vehicle as she left the school. She said she kept driving so he would not try to get in her car, and Brown took a rock from his pocket and threw it at the rear window of her vehicle.
