Tim Tebow is familiar with the Florida Gators, playing quarterback there from 2006-09. He won the Heisman in 2007 and was a part of Florida’s national championship teams in 2006 and 2008.
On Friday, Tebow gave his thoughts on one of the football program’s decisions regarding head coach Billy Napier. Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin released a statement on Thursday, announcing that Napier would remain the head coach.
“Gator Nation, I wanted to let you know that Billy Napier will continue as head football coach of the Florida Gators,” Stricklin said.
Napier has not had a winning season since taking the Florida job in 2022 and has a record of 15-18. He finished with five wins in his first season and six in 2023. The Gators are currently 4-4 with a matchup against the No. 5 Texas Longhorns in Week 11.
Tebow appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Friday and expressed his opinion on the decision to keep Napier as head coach. Tebow believed keeping Napier was a good decision for the program’s confidence level.
