New Report Reveals Injury Update to QB Before Florida-Texas

Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway is listed as questionable against the No. 5 Texas Longhorns, and there is a new development on the injury front for the true freshman.

Lagway, a former five-star recruit, took over for returning starter Graham Mertz after the senior suffered a season-ending injury. Lagway led the Gators to wins over UCF and Kentucky before suffering a Grade 2 hamstring injury against rival Georgia last week.

Florida held a 10-3 lead before Lagway was carted off the field in the second quarter. He did not return, and the Gators ultimately could not get much going on offense, falling to No. 3 Georgia 34-20 in Jacksonville.

The Gators feared the worse when Lagway initially fell to the turf in pain, but the injury is not as serious as it appeared to be. According to a report by On3’s Pete Nakos , Lagway is listed as a “game-time decision.”

Florida head coach Billy Napier shared positive news on Lagway earlier in the week, and it seems that he has continued to move in the right direction as the week progressed.
