Driver sought in hit-and-run on school bus with students on board

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Law enforcement officers are seeking the driver of a gray Chevrolet Tahoe that hit a stopped school bus today on NW 39th Avenue.

At about 4:58 p.m., an Alachua County Public Schools bus was stopped on NW 39th Avenue with its lights and stop signs activated near NW 69th Street when a gray Tahoe drove between the inside and outside westbound lanes of NW 39th Avenue, causing minor damage to the school bus. Three juvenile students were on the bus at the time of the crash, but there were no injuries.

The school bus driver was unable to get the tag number of the Tahoe but reported that the driver was a black male.
