Gainesville Black Professionals will host its final events next month as the organization prepares to end operations.
Founded by Virginia Grant in 2016, Gainesville Black Professionals (GBP) is the largest network of Black professionals in North Central Florida. The organization’s closure will culminate with a special Impact Weekend to give the community the opportunity to celebrate GBP’s legacy, reflect on the organization’s years of service and discuss the future of Black professionals in the region, according to a press release.
Impact Weekend will feature a Movers and Shakers Mixer to reflect on the connections made throughout the years to foster future collaborations. It will be held at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at Hotel Indigo in Celebration Pointe at 5020 SW 30th Lane. It will be free and open to the public but registration is required at https://tinyurl.com/ysz3ycs2 .
The Impact Gala will be held to celebrate GPB’s impact on those who made GBP a success. It will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Gainesville Woman’s Club at 2809 W. University. Tickets cost $60 and can be purchased at https://tinyurl.com/ysz3ycs2 .
