Former FL mayoral candidate arrested in connection to GA man found beaten to death in alleyway

A suspect accused of attacking a homeless man in an alleyway and leaving him for dead previously ran for mayor in Florida, according to WGXA .

Bibb County deputies said Albert Knight, 59, died of blunt force trauma in an alleyway near the intersection of Poplar Street and Second Street on May 26. Knight was found dead with a severe head wound.

The sheriff’s office had released surveillance video of a man they believe to be the suspect in the case.

On Dec. 2, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office in Pulaski, Tenn. contacted Bibb County deputies. Giles County investigators said they had arrested a person of interest in a homicide investigation that happened in Tennessee.

The person of interest claimed he had information regarding Knight’s death.
