Florida Informed of Unfortunate Trafer Portal News on Tuesday

It’s been over a week since the transfer portal officially opened, and many big names have already found new homes with programs they hope will improve them and further their football career.

However, there’s still a small stream of athletes who need a bit more time to know exactly what they want before they make such a big decision, and the Florida Gators have taken the latest blow.

Of course, Florida ended the season with a 7-5 overall record, 4-4 in SEC play and will play in the Gasparilla Bowl at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on Dec. 20 against Tulane.

The sting of falling far from near a playoff birth gets a little worse, with EDGE T.J. Searcy announcing his plans to enter the portal.

Unlike many transfers, Searcy had been getting a good amount of playing time with the Gators. He’s just a sophomore, but in the last two seasons with Florida, he’s accumulated 60 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.

He was also a highly sought-after recruit coming out of high school in 2023 from Thomaston, Georgia.
