After winning the tipoff, Arkansas started the game hot with a mid-range jump shot from freshman guard Boogie Fland. The Razorbacks doubled down by forcing a turnover on their first defensive series of the game, setting the stage for an 11-2 Arkansas run in the first three minutes.
This fast-paced first five minutes was as good as it got for Arkansas, as the Gators erased that deficit with 10 minutes to go in the first half.
