Meltwich Food Co., a Canadian franchise known for its comfort food, is bringing its specialty grilled cheeses, burgers, poutine, and more to the Southeast, Executive VP Ryan Hillis shared. In addition to expanding in Florida and Georgia, the franchise is also expanding into states like Texas, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Minnesota. Hillis shared that they are aggressively pursuing their United States expansion this year.
In Florida, the first Gainesville location at 1404 W University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601 will feature classic dishes and a beer and wine bar, opening this summer. Meanwhile, Orlando will host two locations, with one opening in September at 12100 Collegiate Way, Orlando, FL 32817 and another planned for the city. An address for the second location is not available as of now.
Georgia will welcome a Downtown Athens location at 558 W Broad St, Athens, GA 30601, expected to open in August with a full liquor bar to complement the UGA nightlife.
