Firefighters rescue two dogs from Ocala house fire

OCALA, Florida — Firefighters from Marion County Fire Rescue saved two dogs from a house fire on Pecan Drive Sunday afternoon. The blaze was reported after a home monitoring service detected smoke alarms going off, according to a statement from Marion County Fire Rescue.Silver Springs Shores Station #17 arrived at the scene within five minutes to find smoke billowing from the roof and eaves. Firefighters quickly deployed a hoseline and forced entry through the front door, encountering thick black smoke down to the floor.
