Marion man allegedly sold stolen car on Facebook Marketplace

A 48-year-old Marion County man was arrested nearly two months after allegedly selling a stolen car on Facebook Marketplace.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, a male victim contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and advised that he had purchased a 2011 Ford Focus on Facebook Marketplace for parts on December 10, 2024. The victim advised that a man named Jamey Michael Kelley had sold the car and claimed that it had belonged to his deceased mother, according to the arrest report.

The victim stated that Kelley dropped off the vehicle with a tow truck, and the victim tried taking it to a local scrapyard. However, the victim soon discovered that the vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee…
