Two Hamilton County Men Arrested in Multi-Agency Drug Trafficking Bust

Two Hamilton County men have been arrested for trafficking and selling illegal narcotics following a joint law enforcement operation.

The Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force (MJDTF) identified 36-year-old Thomas Jerome Johnson of Gainesville, Florida, as a supplier of crystal methamphetamine and counterfeit fentanyl pills in Columbia County. Task force detectives, in collaboration with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, conducted surveillance on Johnson.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Florida Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Johnson in northern Columbia County, leading to the discovery of:

  • 54.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 595 counterfeit fentanyl pills (71.5 grams)
  • 281.2 grams of synthetic marijuana

Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility…
