Villager’s son ordered to seek drug evaluation after crashing into power pole

A Villager’s son has been ordered to seek a substance abuse evaluation after crashing into a power pole while he was armed with a gun.

Timothy Harold Barnhorst, 52, who lives with his mother at 1107 Sayle St. in the Village of Virginia Trace, will be monitored under the community control program for one and half years as a result of a sentencing hearing this past week in Marion County Court. He has also been ordered to seek a substance abuse evaluation and follow any recommended treatment. He was given credit for five days already served in jail.

Barnhorst was involved in a crash in the wee hours Oct. 17 when his white Infiniti knocked over a power pole in Summerfield, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

A witness heard the crash and saw the Barnhorst throw something over a fence. He fled the scene…
