Gainesville Police investigating after 3 people were shot a at Gainesville Easter egg hunt

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Gainesville police officers are looking for a person they say shot three people at an Easter egg hunt in TB McPherson Park Sunday night.

A Gainesville Police Department (GPD) spokesperson said someone shot three people at the park around 8:15 p.m. The officer described the scene of the shooting as “chaos,” adding that one to two thousand people were at the Easter egg hunt.

GPD officials said several units were at the park, but could not catch the shooter before they ran away. Police said the hosts of the Easter egg hunt also hired private security. Police said the three people that were shot are all adults, and are currently still alive…
