New Ocala development could bring homes, businesses to busy corridor

OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A proposed project that will bring more residential and commercial space to an active area in Ocala, is making its way through several review committees.

Freedom Commons, a 333.95-acre project, is expected to connect to Marion County utilities, including water and sewer systems. According to Michael Savage, Marion County’s director of building safety, the developer – Freedom Commons, LLC – will construct the roads, detention areas, and common spaces. These areas will eventually be maintained by a property owners’ association (POA) established by the developer.

Phase 7 of the project will have 9.8 acres dedicated to commercial use, with the remainder planned for residential development, Savage said…
