Summerfield man with suspended license arrested after running stop sign

A man with a suspended license was arrested after running a stop sign near a gas station in Summerfield.

An officer observed a blue Dodge Dakota traveling westbound in the area of southeast SE Hwy. 42 and south U.S. Hwy. 441 in Summerfield at around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He knew the driver, 47-year-old Ryan Joseph Clark of Summerfield, had a revoked driver’s license.

The vehicle pulled into the Sunoco at the intersection of the highways, and the deputy pulled off the road slightly west. He watched Clark drive back out about 30 seconds after pulling in. The vehicle then ignored a stop sign before getting back onto southeast U.S. Highway 42. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted in the 9300 block of the highway, the report said.

Upon pulling over, Clark immediately got out of his vehicle. The deputy told him to sit back down, to which he stated he had not had a license for “years.” He provided his information, and it confirmed it had been suspended since 2016, the report said…
