Former motels in Gainesville to provide 67 permanent housing units for residents by Sept. 2025, county leaders say

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Renovations are officially underway at two former motels in Gainesville, and county leaders said this marks a significant step in Alachua County’s effort to expand housing options for its most vulnerable residents.

Leaders said they anticipate the former Budget Inn and Scottish Inns will be transformed into 67 permanent housing units by the end of Sept. 2025.
