BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -In April, the former Bradford County Fair Association defaulted on an unpaid loan. Bradford County commissioners swooped in and paid the loan, subsequently taking ownership of the entire fairgrounds property.
The original fair charter calls for 20 people on the fair board. Four members from the old board rolled over, and now, commissioners will decide who will fill those 16 other seats.
“We have 16 very, very strong people,” Scott Kornegay, the Bradford county manager who’s also currently interim fair manager, shared. “because the overwhelming majority of them have an agricultural background there community leaders it’s a very good mix of the cattlemen’s association, the swine association, you know the other aspects of the agricultural fair 4h and its just a really good mix.”…
