Deputies respond to stabbings and “roadway block party” in Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – On Saturday night, June 28, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) responded to stabbings that seriously injured three people and involved multiple locations, along with a separate block party that obstructed Holden Park Road. This weekend is the annual Hawthorne Homecoming event, a community family reunion celebration that brings people to Hawthorne every summer.

At about 10:45 p.m., ASO posted a “Public Safety Notice – Unlawful Assembly” on Facebook, issuing an “immediate warning” to stop blocking Holden Park Road, east of U.S. Hwy 301; the post said the party (shown above) was disrupting traffic and emergency services.
