Marion County firefighters rescue 12 dogs from mobile home fire

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Firefighters in Marion County rescued 12 dogs from a mobile home fire on the Fourth of July, Marion County Fire Rescue said.

Crews were dispatched to reports of a mobile home engulfed in flames at around 6:35 p.m. on Friday in Ft. McCoy.

Next to the burning double-wide were dog kennels and a camper. MCFR said firefighters were able to rescue 12 dogs, though they did not say if there were more dogs that couldn’t be saved.

It took crews over three hours to get the flames under control, and the cause is still under investigation.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported…
