Wanted person drags man down hallway to fight in garage

A Leesburg man wanted out of Marion County was arrested for battery after allegedly dragging someone down a hallway to fight them in a garage.

Deputies responded to a physical altercation, later found to involve 36-year-old Timothy David Williams, at an undisclosed Sumter County residence around 3:10 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, the deputies met with the male victim who advised that he was sitting in a recliner in the living room when Williams told him he had 30 seconds to leave the residence. The victim refused, and Williams punched him in the face, grabbed him and dragged him down the hallway into the garage. The physical altercation continued there, the report said.

The victim tried to fight back but was unsuccessful. Eventually, he was able to flee the residence and call 911. He sustained fresh bruising and abrasions on his face, consistent with his account of the incident. The report noted that neither the victim nor Williams lived in the residence…
