PALM BAY, Fla. – A Gainesville man was arrested after a high-speed chase on I-95 ended in a crash and a slew of charges in Brevard County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 5:30 p.m. Monday, a trooper clocked a gray Kia SUV going 96 mph traveling north near mile marker 170.
When the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver accelerated and fled, weaving through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph and using both shoulders of the highway. The chase continued onto State Road 514 (Malabar Road), where the vehicle collided with a Tesla Model 3 in the front driver’s side quarter panel after failing to complete a turn, the report states…
