Wiccan sues former Marion employer over religious discrimination, harassment

A Wiccan woman who previously worked at a furniture store in Marion County has filed a lawsuit against her former employee, claiming she was humiliated for her religious beliefs, that she was kissed on the lips by one of the owners without her consent, and that she was fired after she complained to management about the alleged harassment.

Attorneys representing Jessica Corbett filed the lawsuit against White’s Furniture, Inc., in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County on July 13.

According to the complaint, Corbett worked as a front desk clerk at White’s Furniture in Summerfield from August 2020 to July 2024. The complaint names several employees and direct supervisors of Corbett as being the parties responsible for the alleged discrimination, including Arthur and Lee White, the president and vice president of the company…
